I know that the headlights are expensive! that's why i have made sume research how to fix them without so tramendous costs!
The ignition xenon unit has nothing to do with the low beam power! the stmptoms for a problem in this ignition unit is different- the hedlughts refuse to start or they are blinking.
i haven't replaced the whole headlight! but if i have to- futrst of all i will replace only the projectors!
Probieren sie zu erst nur mit neue Scheinwerfer....
Have anybody here purchased an active seat ventilation retrofitkit? i need some info and some impressions from a guy that actually have used this kit. according to mu info the kit consists of 8 fans per seat, a switch and a new perforated leather seat-cover. but the most disturbing part is that the fans are manufactured in China! the manufacturer is NIDEC!
Ich bin 100% sicher dass Ihre Brenner sind OK! wenn die scheinwerfer funktioniert - die Brenner ist in ordnung. wechsels sie bitte nur die scheinwerfer aber mit NEU!
here you can see what i mean:

PS -- you could easily adjust your headlights by yourself! it is not that hard.
I have had the same problem. a solution is adding HID to your fogs
Hi, ich versteher ganz gut in Deutsch, aber kann nicht sehr gut die Technische Sachen auf Detsch erklaeren- deshalb shreibe ich auf Englisch. Ich bin bulgaren.
So- the correct set up of the headbem is a MUST! but this is not the only problem! ZKW headlights have problems with the lens and the reflectors. the reflectors have some kind of a special finish that after 5 or so years become worn out- i mean- burnt! i could hardly believe my eyes when i saw such tning for the first time. unfortunately this is a very common problem by all E46, manufactured in the perion 2002-2004...i will try to post here a pic of such damaged reflector
the problem is in the reflector. i mean - for ZKW headlights. they just burn and the light became weaker and weaker...unfortunately this reflector can not be purchased as a spare part from the lokal bmw dealer...i will try to restore it by dismantling the whole headlight and making new finish to the reflector but nothing could be compared to the original headlight....it seems that the only solution is new projectors. i have read that a direct swap is possible with projectors from infinity, but i am not 100% sure!
you can gain accsess to the stecker through the opening for the rear speacker. try to remove the speacker from the rear deck, then romove the housing under the speacker on the right side and you will see the stecker. disconect the stecker and try to gauge the current. it is not that difficult. i hope you understand what i mean.
